Alternatives to AFAS: 6 ERP packages compared

AFAS Profit is a broad ERP package with prices on request and an implementation project. If that is too big or too expensive for your organisation, these are six alternatives, from a smaller package with a fixed price to ERP per user.

Why people look for an alternative to AFAS

AFAS Profit is a broad package for finance, HR, payroll, CRM, projects and logistics. On AFAS's pricing page you request a price indication for Profit; a fixed price is shown only for AFAS SB, the accounting package for business owners (€59,99 per month). A Profit implementation is a project with set-up, migration and training.

People looking for an alternative are often smaller organisations that do not need all the modules, or companies that mainly want to support stock, production or projects. A fixed, public price per user is another reason to look further.

Six alternatives to AFAS side by side

The prices come from the suppliers' pricing pages, checked on 1 October 2026, and are per month, excluding VAT unless the supplier does not say. With most packages, implementation by a partner comes on top.

Package Suits Price per month Source
AFAS SB Small organisations that want to stay with AFAS but only keep books €59,99 with 2 users and 5 sets of books pricing page
Odoo Organisations that want to choose and extend modules separately Standard €24,90, Custom €44,90 per user with annual billing (in the first year €19,90 and €35,90) pricing page
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Trade and production businesses that work with Microsoft 365 Essentials €69,30, Premium €95,30, Team Members €6,90 per user with annual billing pricing page
Gripp Service providers with projects, hours and invoicing Starter €162, Professional €210, Premium €261 with 3 users pricing page
Kleisteen Mini-ERP Small companies that combine accounting, hours and stock €95 pricing page
StoreKeeper Retail with till, webshop and stock Basis €249, Compleet €499, Geavanceerd €999 pricing page

Odoo and StoreKeeper do not say whether their prices include or exclude VAT. Odoo and Business Central sell the licence; you usually do the set-up with an implementation partner at an hourly rate.

Which alternative suits you?

  • You mainly use AFAS for accounting: AFAS SB or another accounting package is then much cheaper. You handle HR and payroll with a separate package.
  • You want an ERP with a public price per user: Odoo and Business Central publish their licence prices. Add the implementation by a partner.
  • You are a service provider: Gripp combines CRM, projects, hours and invoicing with three users in the price.

Worked examples of the total cost, with implementation and internal hours, are in what does an ERP system cost.

Taking your data out of AFAS

  • Within AFAS, a migration is preferred: according to the AFAS SB manual, you then take over more data than with an auditfile. SB can also read an auditfile from Profit, including contacts, invoices, open items, the chart of accounts and opening balances.
  • To another package, the financial accounts usually move via an auditfile (XAF) or an opening balance. HR and payroll data are not in it; you export and check those separately.
  • Plan the switch for the start of a financial year and expect a period in which you run both packages side by side.
