Compare contract management software
Contract management software gives you an overview of all your organisation's contracts: with suppliers, customers, employees and landlords. You keep them in one place, record end dates and notice periods and receive a notification in good time. That way a contract no longer renews unnoticed. Many organisations start their contract management in Excel and switch when the number of contracts grows. Procurement, the legal department, finance and HR often work on it together.
Contract administration only, or the whole process?
The first choice is what the software has to do. If you mainly want to record signed contracts and keep track of their term, a contract administration system such as Pactum or Trackado is a good fit. A contract management tool for the whole process also helps with drafting, negotiating, approving and signing. This is called contract lifecycle management (CLM). Examples are Mochadocs, Oneflow, Juro and Zoho Contracts. With PandaDoc you create and sign quotes and other documents as well as contracts.
For legal departments there are packages with extra modules, such as Legisway. If you are looking for contract management software from a Dutch or Belgian supplier, look at Mochadocs, Pactum, Weagree or Contractify.
What should you look out for?
- Users: the price often depends on the number of users. Observers who only read or approve are cheaper with some providers.
- Notifications: check whether you can set, per contract, who receives a reminder for the end date or the notice period, and when.
- Existing contracts: look at how you import the contracts you already have. Some packages use AI to extract data from a document themselves.
- Signing and integrations: a digital signature is sometimes included and sometimes a separate service. Also check whether the software integrates with your CRM, ERP or document storage.
