Moneybird charges according to a maximum number of bank transactions per plan. As your accounts grow, you soon pay €41 per month. These seven accounting packages charge differently; here are their prices and what you take with you when you switch.
Why people look for an alternative to Moneybird
Moneybird is a clear accounting package, but the price depends on the number of bank transactions you process per month. According to the pricing page (1 October 2026), Compact costs €3 for 5 transactions, Start €15 for 20, Groei €29 for 50 and Compleet €41 for unlimited. A bank feed is only included from Groei. Anyone with more than fifty bank transactions a month therefore pays €41 per month, or a little less with annual billing.
The most common reasons to look further are therefore the price as your accounts grow, wanting a package without a transaction limit, or wanting more features for the same money. Moneybird itself has not got worse: above all, compare what your number of bookings and users costs.

Moneybird, MoneyMonk and e-Boekhouden.nl do not say whether their prices include or exclude VAT. Starter offers are not in the table: with e-Boekhouden.nl, MoneyMonk and Informer you pay less or nothing for the first months, then the amount above.
Which alternative suits you?
- You mainly want to pay less: e-Boekhouden.nl has no limit on bookings in Standaard. If you need invoices, Standaard + Factureren costs €24, still less than Moneybird Compleet.
- You want to book less yourself: Jortt and Tellow Plus focus on processing bank transactions and receipts automatically. Jortt ZZP is for sole traders only.
- You work with more people or sets of books: AFAS SB includes five sets of books in the price, Informer MKB Plus three users.

Taking your accounts out of Moneybird
Switching is easiest at the start of a financial year. Set up an opening balance in the new package with the balances of your accounts and your open invoices, and keep the old accounts for the statutory retention period.
- Moneybird can create an auditfile in XAF format per financial year. According to the documentation, this only works if there are no ledger accounts without an account number or with a duplicate one.
- An auditfile is a standard file, but not every package reads it. According to its manual, AFAS SB only imports auditfiles from Profit, Twinfield, Exact Online, Multivers and SnelStart, so not from Moneybird. Ask each supplier which data it takes over from a Moneybird auditfile.
- After switching, check that your open items, VAT balances and bank accounts are correct before you cancel the old subscriptions.
