Personio is HR software with personnel files, leave, absence, time tracking and recruitment in one environment. According to the plans page (2 October 2026), there are two plans, Core and Core PRO, and you request the price through a demo. All active software users count towards the number of licences; with an annual subscription paid in advance you get 10% off.
Personio does not run Dutch payroll itself: it prepares payroll and integrates with a payroll package. People who look further therefore often want a public price per employee, a package for a smaller team, or HR and payroll in one system.

Which alternative suits you?
- You want a public price for a small team: Buddee and Humanwave start at around €3 to €4,25 per employee. With HoorayHR you pay for at least ten users.

Taking your data out of Personio
- According to Personio support, an administrator can export the company data and documents. Personio creates the data export and the document export separately and sends an email when they are ready.
- Ask the new package in which format it imports employees, and above all move leave balances, contract hours and ongoing absence reports with care.
- Personio counts every active user as a licence. Only cancel your subscription once the export has arrived, and take the term of an annual contract into account.
