The main difference
Both suppliers combine HRM and payroll in the cloud. AFAS HRM is part of the business software of AFAS from Leusden, which can also include finance, CRM and projects. BCS from 's-Hertogenbosch focuses on HR only: recruitment, onboarding, payroll, absence, training, employment conditions and internal communication, with integrations with more than 50 other systems.
Choose AFAS HRM if
- besides HR and payroll you also want your financial administration, CRM or projects in one system;
- you want to set up many processes yourself with workflows;
- you want employees and managers to arrange a lot themselves in an app or portal.
Choose BCS if
- you are looking for an HR specialist and your accounting stays in another package;
- you also want flexible employment conditions and training in the same HR system;
- your organisation is in the public sector or needs many integrations with other systems.
What to look out for with both
Ask for a demo with your own collective labour agreement (cao) and a few tricky situations, such as variable hours, allowances and an employee who leaves. Also ask how the payroll journal entry gets into your accounts.
Features only one of the two has
