The main difference
AFAS HRM is part of the business software of AFAS from Leusden, which according to AFAS is used by more than 14.000 organisations. HRM and payroll are in the same system, and your financial administration, CRM and projects can be added too. Personio is HR software for companies with 10 to 2.000 employees that focuses on HR only. Dutch payroll runs through an integration, for example with Loket or Nmbrs.
Choose Personio if
- you are looking for an HR package to use alongside your current payroll and accounting software;
- you want to start quickly and try it first: you can use Personio free for 14 days;
- you also have employees outside the Netherlands and want one HR system.
Choose AFAS HRM if
- you want HR and payroll in one system, without an integration;
- you also want to run your financial administration or projects in AFAS, or already do;
- your organisation is large enough for an implementation project and you want to set up a lot yourself afterwards.
What to look out for with both
Compare not only the price per employee, but also the implementation. An integrated system such as AFAS requires more setup in advance; a standalone HR package requires a good integration with your payroll.
