Drupal is an open source CMS with which you build websites and web applications. According to Drupal, governments, media companies and universities use it, such as the BBC and the University of Oxford. You extend it with thousands of modules and determine the design with themes. There are two versions: Drupal CMS for marketers and content creators, with a visual page builder and site templates, and Drupal Core for developers who put everything together themselves.
Drupal is free: there are no licence costs. You download it and put it on your own server or with a hosting provider; you arrange the hosting yourself. You can try Drupal CMS first. If you are looking for help with building or managing, you will find certified partners on drupal.org.
