Software info

LibreOffice is a free, open source office suite from the non-profit organisation The Document Foundation. A community of hundreds of contributors develops it; it derives from OpenOffice.org. The suite has six components: Writer (word processor), Calc (spreadsheets), Impress (presentations), Draw (drawings), Base (databases) and Math (formulas). You install it on Windows, macOS or Linux, also in Dutch.

LibreOffice costs nothing: you download it and use it without a licence or plan. The Document Foundation itself gives no technical support; you get help from other users via mailing lists and Ask LibreOffice. For schools and large organisations the organisation recommends LibreOffice Enterprise: versions from partners with a service contract and technical support. Their prices are not on the LibreOffice site.
