e-Boekhouden.nl review 2026: what does it cost after the starter offer?

e-Boekhouden.nl review: what ZZP, Standaard and Standaard + Factureren cost after the starter offer, the limit of 240 bookings and who it suits.

Illustration of an open ledger with tally marks, a desk calendar with many pages, two puzzle pieces for bookkeeping and invoicing, a calculator, a small stack of invoices and a pencil.

e-Boekhouden.nl is cheap, but in the first year you pay a promotional price and the ZZP plan has a limit of 240 bookings. We list the plans, the welcome offers and the regular rates, show what to watch out for and who a different package suits better.

e-Boekhouden.nl in brief

e-Boekhouden.nl is online accounting software for freelancers, small businesses, associations and foundations. It consists of modules: a bookkeeping module with bank connection, VAT return and reports, and an invoicing module with invoices, quotes, hours and direct debits. You pay per month, per administration, and the number of users is unlimited.

On 7 November 2026 we read e-Boekhouden.nl's pricing page, frequently asked questions and terms and conditions again. Everything below comes from those pages and from the reviews users write on SoftwareWatcher. We did not test the package ourselves with an administration of our own, and we do not give a score. Further down is a short test you can run yourself during the trial.

What does e-Boekhouden.nl cost? All plans and limits

There are three plans for businesses. New customers always get one of two welcome offers, so in the first year you pay less than the regular rate. Budget with the regular rate: that is what you pay afterwards (pricing page).

Package Regular rate per month First 12 months with 50% discount What is included
Freelancer €9.95 €4.98 Bookkeeping and invoicing, up to 240 bookings per financial year
Standaard €14.50 €7.25 Unlimited bookkeeping, without the invoicing module
Standaard + Factureren €24 €12 Unlimited bookkeeping and invoicing

The two welcome offers:

  • Starters: 15 months free. If you have been registered with the Chamber of Commerce (KVK) for less than 15 months, you use e-Boekhouden.nl free until 15 months after your registration date. If you started 4 months ago, you therefore have 11 months left. The starter account does not renew automatically; you get a message two weeks before it ends (starter conditions).
  • All other new customers: 12 months at 50% off. You first try it free for 14 days and activate your account within 30 days. The offers cannot be combined.

What else counts:

  • Monthly only. There is no annual subscription. You cancel with one month's notice.
  • One administration per subscription. If you run a holding company and an operating company, you need two subscriptions. For four or more administrations you ask for a proposal.
  • Users are free. You create as many users as you want and set the rights per user; your bookkeeper also looks in for free.
  • Recognition costs credits. Mail & Herken and Scan & Herken read purchase invoices. Each recognised invoice costs one credit, from €0.09 each in bundles; your subscription includes a number of them. Credits do not expire. Autopilot, which also books recognised invoices straight away, is free according to e-Boekhouden.nl (Autopilot).
  • VAT. The pricing page does not say whether the amounts include or exclude VAT.

Associations and foundations have separate prices: Boekhouden €9.50, Ledenadministratie €8.50 and Ledenadministratie+ €18 per month, with the same welcome offers (prices for associations). See also our article on accounting software for an association or foundation.

What e-Boekhouden.nl does well

  • Low regular rate. Standaard + Factureren costs €24 per month with no limit on bookings, invoices or users.
  • Long free start. For a starter, 15 months free is more than a full financial year with every VAT return.
  • Broad package. Besides bookkeeping and invoicing, the feature list names cost centres, budgets, non-calendar financial years, a fixed asset module, stock, subscription invoices and automatic direct debit (feature list).
  • VAT and EC sales list from the package. You send the VAT return and the EC sales list (ICP) directly to the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst).

What to watch out for

  • 240 bookings on ZZP. Every purchase invoice, sales invoice, bank or cash transaction and journal entry counts, per financial year. An invoice and its payment are already two bookings together. If you reach the limit, you have to upgrade to keep working.
  • Standaard has no invoicing. Anyone who wants to invoice and has more than 240 bookings ends up on Standaard + Factureren, €24 per month.
  • No payslips. e-Boekhouden.nl has connections with two payroll packages, Nmbrs Payroll and Loon; you pay for those separately.
  • No income tax return. The connection with the Tax Administration that e-Boekhouden.nl describes is for the VAT return and the EC sales list (Tax Administration connection). For your income tax return you use the figures from the package.
  • After cancelling your data is gone. Once the subscription has ended, the data is deleted. When cancelling you choose an export, or the Online Archief from €1.40 per month excluding VAT so you can keep viewing your administration.

Who does e-Boekhouden.nl suit, and who should look elsewhere?

e-Boekhouden.nl suits a starter who wants to use the 15 free months, a freelancer with a small administration who stays below 240 bookings a year, and a private limited company or association that wants unlimited bookkeeping for a fixed amount. If you work with a bookkeeper or a colleague, it helps that extra users cost nothing.

Look elsewhere if:

How the prices compare with other packages is in what does accounting software cost. And what happens after a free period is in free accounting software: what is really free.

Switching to or from e-Boekhouden.nl

To e-Boekhouden.nl. e-Boekhouden.nl advises not to load your old bookings but to start the new financial year with an opening balance: the closing position of last year's balance sheet. Ledger accounts, contacts and bank statements can be imported. If your old contract is still running, according to the switching page you pay nothing at e-Boekhouden.nl until that contract has ended.

Leaving e-Boekhouden.nl. You create an audit file via Beheer, Exporteren, Auditfile. You choose the financial year, by week or by month, and version 2.0 or 3.2 (audit file explained). Make that export before you cancel, because the data is deleted after the subscription ends. You cancel yourself in the account, via Beheer, and only with administrator rights.

How to test e-Boekhouden.nl yourself during the trial

We did not test e-Boekhouden.nl ourselves. With these five steps you will see during the 14-day trial whether it fits your administration:

  1. Count last year's bookings: invoices, purchase invoices and bank transactions together. If you go above 240, ZZP is out.
  2. Connect your bank or import a bank file for one month, and see how many payments are matched to an invoice automatically.
  3. Email three purchase invoices to your own e-Boekhouden.nl address and check the booking proposal. Turn on Autopilot and look at the input report.
  4. Create an invoice in your own house style with a payment link and send it to yourself.
  5. Export an audit file, so you know you can take your data with you again.

User experiences

What business owners themselves think of the package is in the reviews on the e-Boekhouden.nl profile. Those reviews are written by users, not by us; this article gives no score of its own.
