DigiBoox review 2026: one plan for freelancers, what do you get?

DigiBoox review: what the free plan and Compleet cost, what the income tax return adds and which freelancer DigiBoox suits.

DigiBoox has one paid plan without limits and sells the income tax return separately. We list the prices and extra services, show what to watch out for and who a different package suits better.

DigiBoox at a glance

DigiBoox is online accounting software for freelancers and sole traders. There is a free plan for invoicing and one paid plan for the full bookkeeping, with no limits on invoices, customers or bank transactions. DigiBoox also sells separate services: a wizard for the income tax return and a bookkeeping service. DigiBoox also has a version for Belgian businesses; this review is about the Dutch one.

On 7 November 2026 we read DigiBoox's pricing page, switching page, feature pages and terms and conditions again. Everything below comes from those pages and from the reviews users write on SoftwareWatcher. We did not test DigiBoox ourselves with an administration of our own, and we do not give a score. Further down is a short test you can run yourself during the trial.

What does DigiBoox cost? Plans and extra services

The pricing page opens on the annual subscription. Prices exclude VAT and include support, also by phone.

Package Price What is included
Invoicing free Contacts, invoices in your own layout, invoices by email, UBL invoices, credit notes and the app
Compleet €16.50 per month, or €180 per year (€15 per month) Everything in Facturatie, plus quotes, iDEAL payment links via Mollie, reminders, the receipts inbox, hours and trips, depreciation, a bank connection via Ponto, VAT return and supplementary return, year-end closing and extra users

Separate services you can add:

  • Income tax return: €130 per return from the wizard, €210 together with your tax partner, and €420 if a specialist checks and files the return.
  • Bookkeeping service for sole traders: €66 per month. DigiBoox then processes your costs and bank transactions and files the VAT return and the income tax return.

There is no starter offer or first-year discount. You can try Compleet free for 30 days, without payment details. A monthly subscription renews monthly, an annual one every twelve months (terms and conditions).

What DigiBoox does well

  • One price without limits. Compleet has no cap on invoices, customers or transactions. If your administration grows, the price stays the same.
  • Low amount. At €180 a year, Compleet is one of the cheapest paid plans in our cost comparison.
  • Income tax return from the package. The wizard combines data from the Tax Administration with your bookkeeping and files the return. With the other packages in this series you file that return outside the package.
  • Free switching service. DigiBoox transfers your existing administration free of charge from an export or audit file (switching service).

What to watch out for

  • Made for freelancers. DigiBoox focuses on the sole trader; the bookkeeping service is only for sole traders. The pricing and feature pages say nothing about payslips, so for those you need another package.
  • The income tax return costs extra. The wizard is not part of the subscription. Add €130 a year if you use it.
  • No refund if you stop early. You can cancel at any time by closing your account, but according to the terms you do not get back what you have already paid. With an annual subscription you therefore lose twelve months.
  • After the end your administration disappears. After termination DigiBoox deletes the administration automatically, without a fixed period. Export everything you want to keep before you cancel.
  • Export to another package. DigiBoox mentions exports to Excel. We did not find an audit file export described on the site; ask about it during the trial if you want to be able to switch later.

Who does DigiBoox suit, and who should look elsewhere?

DigiBoox suits a freelancer who does their own bookkeeping, has many invoices or transactions and wants a fixed low amount, and who also wants to do the income tax return themselves. If you only want to invoice, you can use the free plan.

Look elsewhere if:

If you first want to know how far a free package gets you, read free accounting software: what is really free.

Switching to or from DigiBoox

To DigiBoox. You supply an export or audit file from your old package and DigiBoox imports it free of charge. DigiBoox mentions experience with e-Boekhouden.nl, Moneybird, MoneyMonk, Jortt, Tellow and Informer, among others. Individual parts, such as contacts, invoices and costs, you import yourself from Excel (importing). Bank transactions are read in separately, via the bank connection or a bank file.

Leaving DigiBoox. You cancel by closing your account in the account settings; you can also choose a date there. Export your reports, invoices and receipts beforehand, because the administration is deleted after the agreement ends. In your new package, start with an opening balance based on the balance sheet from DigiBoox.

How to test DigiBoox yourself during the trial

We did not test DigiBoox ourselves. With these five steps you will see during the 30 free days whether it fits your administration:

  1. Connect your bank account via Ponto and check whether all transactions from the past month come in.
  2. Create two rules for automatic processing of the bank, for example for your phone and your insurance, and see whether they book the next transactions correctly.
  3. Send three receipts to the receipts inbox and check whether amount, date and VAT are recognised correctly.
  4. Prepare a draft VAT return for the past quarter and compare it with your last real return.
  5. Ask support how to make a full export or audit file, so you know how to take your data with you later.

User experiences

What business owners themselves think of DigiBoox is in the reviews on the DigiBoox profile. Those reviews are written by users, not by us; this article gives no score of its own.

Frequently asked questions about DigiBoox

What does DigiBoox cost per month?

Compleet costs €16.50 per month on a monthly subscription, or €180 per year (€15 per month) on an annual subscription, excluding VAT. The Facturatie plan is free.

Can I file my income tax return with DigiBoox?

Yes, with a wizard that sends your return from DigiBoox to the Tax Administration. That costs €130, €210 with a tax partner, or €420 if a specialist checks the return. It is not part of the subscription.

Is DigiBoox suitable for a private limited company?

In its own texts DigiBoox focuses on freelancers and sole traders. The pricing and feature pages say nothing about payslips, so a private limited company that pays salaries needs another package for that.

Can I cancel DigiBoox early?

Yes, by closing your account. According to the terms and conditions you do not get back what you have already paid, so with an annual subscription you pay for the whole year.
